Universal Studios®
Florida - Universal's original Florida
Amusement Park, its theme is based on the west
coast studio concept, where guests see and
experience how movies and television shows
are made. Rides and shows take visitors into
the world of TV and movie production. Many
of the rides and programs are based on block-buster
movies as well as favorite and classic TV shows.
The newest feature here is Men in Blacktm Alien
Attack where the rider gets the opportunity
to save the earth from some pretty nasty alien
invaders. Other main events include the famous
Deloran ride from Back to the Future and an
attack from the deep by a great white shark
in - Jaws®. Look for an homage to the master
of movie and TV suspense, Alfred Hitchcock
and another to comedian Lucille Ball. A personal
bike ride into another world with E.T.®;
a larger-than-life attack by King Kong and
an underground rumble with an Earthquake are
part of some of Universals proverbial
favorites. Then there is the awesome and mind-blowing
chase into the future and past with Arnold
in Terminator 2-3Dtm; a close-up experience
with a rip-roaring Twister and on the opposite
end of the thriller spectrum, a visit to the
happy and green slimy land of Nickelodeon Studios®.
Universal Studios® offers something for
everyone, so plan to make a big day of it!

Universal Studios®
Islands of Adventure(sm)
adjacent to CityWalk and Universal Studios®
/ 407-363-8000
Take a trip to six uniquely-themed islands
in this amazing major addition to Universal
Studios® in Orlando. A second unique theme
park along side the original Universal offering,
this is a state of the art, cleverly thought-out
park and extremely popular with visitors. Each
Island has its own separate motif and attractions
providing guests with lots of different aspects
to explore.
Begin at the Port of Entry. Designed
as an entry point into the park, this area
sets the tone for the rest of the Islands of
Adventure experience. From gourmet foods to
a breakfast pick-me-up, it can all be found
here amongst the Port Town and crossroads theme
of the place. If you are in a hurry to take
in Jurassic Park®, hop on the Island Skipper
Tour Boats for a direct route to ages past.
For little ones head toward Seuss Landing where
children of all ages can enjoy the experience
of Dr. Seuss together.
Seuss Landing is of course based on
the characters and stories from the Dr. Seuss
books, the park does a good job with the translation!
Be prepared to get wet, it may seem an obvious
consequence with all the water around, but
do expect wet surprises from every corner.
The Cat in the Hattm ride is about as un-nerving
as the book, with a wild Ride Insidesm the
imagination with animatronics, special effects
and quite a few real life, not imaginary spins!
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish is
a wacky wet whirly-go-round that sails through
the air. The Caro-Seuss-eltm, a merry-go-round
filled with Seuss characters and the If I ran
the Zoo are great treats for the whole family.
The newest addition may be one of the best,
its the Sylvester McMonkey McBean's Very
Unusual Driving Machines which offers a bumpy
driving tour suspended above Seuss Landing.
Look for eateries featuring classic Seuss cuisine
including Green Eggs and Ham and Moose Juice
Goose Juice.
Next Stop is at The Lost Continent where
the traveler comes face to face with the magical
and mysterious legends of Atlantis, Sinbad
and Merlin. Many visitors think this is the
best visually themed island in the whole park.
The details are amazing! In Poseidon's Fury:
Escape from The Lost Citysm experience a great
battle between Zeus and Poseidon, your bravery
is assessed and if proven, you are allowed
to enter the massive watery vortex and fireballs
into Atlantis. The next challenge that awaits
may be the line on the next ride, Dueling Dragons.
Thrills of mythic proportions await on this,
the most popular ride in the park! The queue
theming is absolutely worth the wait, the ride
itself is a hair-raising duel between dual
coasters, with near hits and misses! Catch
your breath before getting on this one. A stunt
show based on the Eighth Voyage of Sinbad and
an arcade filled with themed pitch and skill
games round out the action portion of the park.
Excellent eateries and shops are scattered
throughout.
Then it is on to Jurassic Park®!
The Jurassic Park River Adventure ride ends
up as the most amazing flume ride, but it starts
out as a leisurely water ride into the past.
Look out for a stalking velociraptor's and
an irritated hungry T-Rex, sounds a bit like
the film doesnt it? Next get close-up
and personal in Triceratops Encounter. It looks,
sounds, feels and even smells like a real 24
foot dinosaur. Discovery Center is a hands-on
exhibit with lots of activities pertaining
to the Jurassic period. It may be a kids
ride but Pteranodon Flyers really gets up there
and isnt for those afraid of heights.
Camp Jurassic is an adventure play area for
kids with lots of caves and places to explore.
Toon Lagoon puts you right into a cartoon
environment, centering on the main street Comic
Strip Lane. Watch out for Snidely Whiplash
at Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls and do-rightly
expect to get wet! Another cool-down can be
found at Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges,
a white-water rafting experience through a
Popeye cartoon landscape where watery mischief
can be wrought by you or your own children
from Me Ship, the Olive. Relax at the Pandemonium
Cartoon Circus show before moving on to more
intense circumstances on the next Island.
Last but not least is Marvel Super Hero
Island! The most awesome experience in
the whole park may be the 3-D, special effects
ride called The Adventures of Spider-Man(sm).
This is a different ride from any other experience
in Orlando and expect long lines on this one!
The Incredible Hulk Coaster(sm) is the green
monster that hovers over this section of the
park and has a super fast start-up, a real
coaster enthusiasts dream. If you are afraid
of heights dont try Dr. Doom's Fearfall
which features a blast straight up followed
by 150 foot drop that is faster than gravity!
Restaurants and unique shopping areas are scattered
throughout the park, many of the food venues
are quite good. Expect to experience a real
adventure of a lifetime at Universal Studios®
Islands of Adventure(sm), you'll be talking
about it for years to come.
